Breed & Partners has published the Dutch Crowdfunding Top 100. This list features the most successful crowdfunding projects of the past year. At number 1 is Bruinisse Vastgoed, which raised €13.8 million through ZIB Crowdfunding. There is a sharp increase in the number of renewable energy projects in the top 100.

The projects in the Top 100 raised over €111 million this year. That is an increase of 82% compared to 2017. Back then, crowdfunding projects together accounted for over €61 million. The recent crowdfunding round for Fairphone by Oneplanetcrowd entered the top 10 in place 6.

Lots of money for renewable energy and real estate

The Crowdfunding Top 100 is based on data from Fundwijzer. "A striking feature of the list is the increase in the number of crowdfunding projects focused on financing renewable energy and real estate. This also directly explains the sharp increase in the total amount raised in the Top 100," said Bart Ruitenbeek of Fundwijzer. "This is because these types of projects tend to have a larger size than the projects that could be found in the Top 100 in previous years."

Prominent role for innovation

Mark Lipsius of DB&P compiles the Crowdfunding Top 40 each week and therefore sees a lot of great crowdfunding projects coming along. "Besides real estate and sustainability, innovation also plays a prominent role in the current crowdfunding landscape. Take for example projects like smartphone manufacturer Fairphone and fashion brand Labfresh, these products are not only sustainable but also incredibly innovative!" said Mark.
